Mr.T.V.Krishnamachari, Senior Panel Counsel for the Central Government, takes notice for the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner has filed the above writ petition seeking to consider his application dated 04.05.2017 for reissuance of the passport.

3. The prayer sought for in the writ petition is very limited. What is sought for is only consideration of the application dated 04.05.2017. In such view of the matter without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the application made by the petitioner dated 04.05.2017 in Reference No.17-1004757245 within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
