representation of the petitioner dated 07.02.2022, 20.01.2024 (sent by post on 23.01.2024) and 10.09.2024 and to allot one of the 1188 tenements (Apartments) at Division - 5, Chennai Loop Road, Pattinapakkam Scheme to the petitioner who is economically weaker section Tsunami affected people of Nochinagar, whose name was found in the list prepared by the 2nd respondent. ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 31.01.2022, 20.01.2024 and 10.09.2024 and to allot one of the tenements at Division No.5, Chennai Loop Road, Pattinapakkam Scheme to the petitioners.
2. The grievance of the petitioners is that they are also a Tsunami affected person and the said fact has already been enquired into by the respondents. However, the tenement was not allotted.
3. When the matter came up for admission, Mr.S.Karthikeyan, the learned Standing Counsel taking notice on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3 would submit that the case of the petitioners will be considered by the respondents in accordance with law.
4. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:- (i) The petitioners shall be present before the Executive Engineer, Division - 5, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Mylapore, Chennai - 600 004, on 02.04.2025 and submit an additional representation by enclosing the copy of this order along with all the relevant documents; (ii) Upon receipt of the same, the claim of the petitioners shall be decided in the manner known to law;
(iii) The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt / production of the website uploaded copy of this order, without insisting for the certified copy;
(iv) No costs.
