This case came up for settlement before the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties are present. The learned counsel for the appellant Mr.P.Dinesh Kumar, and the learned counsel for the respondent, Mr.B.Keshava Ramanujan, are present. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties, they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows:

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT Both the parties and counsel represented. The Transport Corporation has preferred the present appeal.

2. Aggrieved against the award of Rs.17,99,600/- (Rupees Seventeen Lakhs Ninety Nine Thousand Six Hundred only).

3. Now the parties agreed to modify the award amount for a sum of Rs.25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs only) in full quit.

4. The Transport Corporation is directed to deposit the modify award amount less already deposited, if any within a period of eight weeks from today.

5. On such deposit the claimant is entitled to withdraw the entire amount. If the Transport Corporation fails to deposit the entire amount within a period of eight weeks the claimant is entitled to claim interest against the award amount as on date.

6. The Tribunal is directed to issue the award amount through

NEFT/RTGS to the party concerned on proper identification in accordance with the terms of the award, without insisting on any formal permission petition.

7. The appeal is ordered accordingly. Consequently, the connected civil miscellaneous petition is closed.
