Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to return possession of the lands of the petitioner in T./S.No.N/3/10/2, Akkaraivattam Village, Karaikal, admeasuring 0.49.050 Hectares to the petitioner or in the alternative, continue the land acquisition proceedings under the right to fair compensation and transparency in land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement act, 2013 and pay compensation to the petitioner within such time as may be directed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER
The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents either to return the possession of the subject lands to the petitioner or in the alternative, pay the compensation amount to the petitioner under the right to fair compensation and transparency in land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement act, 2013.
2. It is evident from the records that the subject lands were already taken possession and 80% of the compensation amount has also been paid to the land owners including the petitioner. In view of the same, nothing survives for further adjudication in this matter.
3. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
4. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to file appropriate petition seeking disbursal of the balance compensation.
