The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to settle the fair compensation amount as per guide line value of the land admeasuring 6 cents in survey No: 126/2C, 126/1C in Manjambakkam Village, Thiruvallur Taluk.
2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is the owner of the subject properties and the same were acquired for the purpose of formation of inner ring road in the Northern sector of Chennai City, however, till date the compensation amount has not been paid to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner has filed this writ petition for the aforesaid relief.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondents to dispose of the legal notice served on the Land Acquisition Officer on 04.03.2013 and to pay fair compensation to the petitioner. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 2/4
first respondent submitted that award was passed during the year 1997 itself and the petitioner's name find place at serial nos.26 and 30, however, if the compensation amount has not yet been disbursed to the petitioner, it will be disbursed in favour of the petitioner, within the time that is to be fixed by this Court. 5.Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent, this Court directs the respondents to disburse the compensation amount in favour of the petitioner, if the same has not yet been disbursed, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, with applicable interest.
6.The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
