[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to call for records relating to the detention order passed in No.898/BCDFGISSSV/2016 dated 12.08.2016 by the Detaining Authority against the detenu by name, Nakheeran, aged 48 years, S/o.Bheeman, residing at No.29, St. Anthoniar Koil 3rd Street, Puzhal, Chennai-66 and quash the same.

2. It is seen from the records that the detaining authority has passed the impugned Detention Order dated 12.08.2016 and thereby, detained the detenu as Drug Offender for a period of one year. Since the period mentioned in the Detention Order has already become expired, the relief sought in the petition has become unwarranted.
3. Therefore, this petition is dismissed.
