Mr.S.N.Parthasarathy, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to transfer the patta in the name of the petitioner with respect to the property comprising in UDR Survey No.176/1 measuring hectare 0.20.75 and acres 0.511/4 in hectare 0.83.0 situated at Thondamanthunai Village, Veppanthattai Taluk, Peramballur District, based on the petitioner's application dated 27.11.2017.

3. It is stated that the petitioner has purchased the above said property from one Subramanian by way of a sale deed dated 05.08.2015 vide Document No.2479 of 2015. It is further stated that the petitioner is in possession and enjoyment of the said property from the date of purchase. It is further stated that the petitioner has made a representation on 27.11.2017 to the second respondent seeking to transfer patta in his favour. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said representation dated 27.11.2017 has not been considered by the respondents so far.

This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner as it is for the second respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner 27.11.2017 and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner and other interested parties, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the second respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
