ORDER
This writ petition has been filed questioning the proceedings in Proc.C.No.E6/8971/2010 dated 10.03.2010 whereby the petitioner was placed under suspension because of involvement in a criminal case and he was detained under custody on 07.03.2010 and continued under custody for a period of 48 hours. It is not in dispute that the petitioner was arrested and detained in prison beyond 48 hours.

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, it is brought to the notice of this Court by Mr.E.C.Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel appearing for Chennai Corporation that the petitioner has already attained the age of superannuation and was permitted to retire from service and all the terminal benefits of the petitioner were already paid. 3.
In view of the same, nothing survives for adjudication and the writ petition is closed having become infrucutous. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed as infructuous. The connected miscellaneous petitions, if Page No.2 of 4
any shall stand closed. No costs.
