This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to serve a copy of the award made in Award No.16 of 2024 dated 27.05.2024 and to pay compensation to the petitioner.
2. Heard Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 4.
3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, a copy of the Award passed in Award No.16 of 2024 dated 27.05.2024 was handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner. 2/4
4. The next limb of the relief sought for in this writ petition pertains to the payment of compensation to the petitioner.
5. The learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that since the petitioner refused to receive the compensation, the compensation amount has been deposited on the file of the Principal District Court, Ranipet District in O.P.No.274 of 2024.
6. In the light of the above development, if the petitioner intends to receive the compensation amount, it is always left open to her to file an application before the concerned Court and seek for withdrawal of the compensation amount. On such application being filed and if there are no rival claimants, the petitioner shall be permitted to withdraw the compensation amount.
The Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
