O R D E R

The Writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to allocate office space for the petitioner's trade union within divisional and regional offices of the respondents Transport Corporation and consequently issue directions to issue union bus pass for union office bearers by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2025.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner trade Union, registered under Registration No.1443/Slm on 30.11.2018, represents

transport workers across Tamil Nadu and has participated in the 14th and 15th wage settlements under Section 12(3) of the ID Act, 1947. The Union assets that almost all recognized trade unions have office spaces within transport coporation premises, but the petitioner lacks such facilities at the regional and divisional levels, hampering effective worker representation. A representation dated 24.01.2025 was submitted requesting office space allocation and issuance of union bus passes, but the respondents have not considered the request. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the first respondent submitted that this Court may direct the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the respondents.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the first respondent and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2025 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
