2. The petitioner is a Sub Inspector of Police. He was imposed with the punishment of postponement of increment for two years. It shall operate to postpone his future increments with cumulative effect. The punishment order was issued by the second respondent. He preferred an appeal on 12.6.2014 to the first respondent. This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the aforesaid appeal.

In view of the narrow prayer made, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal dated 12.06.2014 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
