This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- "to direct the 1st Respondents consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.08.2025 for counting half of the service rendered by the petitioner as Village Munsif from 30.08.1976 to 14.11.1980 as qualifying service for pension along with his regular service in the post of Village Administrative Officer, in accordance with law and merits and within a stipulated period of time."

2. The petitioner was initially appointed as Village Munsif of Kiliyur Village, erstwhile Tiruchirappalli District, on 23.08.1976 and joined duty on 30.08.1976. Upon abolition of the said post, he was ousted from service on 14.11.1980. He was subsequently reappointed as Village Administrative Officer on 25.01.1989 and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.05.2008.

3. The petitioner's main grievance is that, while calculating his pension, half of the service rendered by him as Village Munsif has not been counted as qualifying service for pension. Therefore, the petitioner had made several representations seeking to count half of his service rendered by him as Village Munsif as qualifying service for pension. However, the same has not been considered to date. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 4.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

5. Considering the limited request of the petitioner and taking note of the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 06.08.2025 has not been disposed of to date, the Writ Petition is allowed. The 1st respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 06.08.2025 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
