ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- "directing the second respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the petitioners' representation dated 15.11.2025 to regularize the services of the petitioner on completion of 3 years of service from date of his original appointment in the light the orders passed by the first respondent herein in G.O. (D) No.609 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC3) Department dated 17.10.2025 and sanction the retirement and consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time-frame as deem fit and proper by this Honourable Court."

The petitioners' case is that petitioners 1 to 3 were initially appointed as Sanitary Workers with effect from 01.01.1991, 01.11.1994, and 01.12.1986 respectively, at Valasaravakkam Panchayat (which was merged with the Corporation of Chennai on 25.10.2011), and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.12.2021. However, the terminal benefits have not been paid to the petitioners. The petitioners would submit that some similarly placed persons have already obtained favourable orders from this Court regarding their terminal benefits and regularisation of service. In this

regard, the petitioners made a representation to the 2nd respondent on 15.11.2025 seeking payment of terminal benefits. However, to date, the petitioners' request has not been considered. Hence, the Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

4. Considering the limited request of the petitioners and also taking note of the fact that the relief claimed by the petitioners in the instant case has already been extended to some similarly placed persons, the Writ Petition is allowed. The 2nd respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 15.11.2025 seeking terminal benefits, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
