ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to complete the investigation and lay final report in Crime No.798 of 2016 within the stipulated time.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that despite the F.I.R. has been registered in Crime No.798 of 2016, the investigation has not been completed and final report has also not been filed.

3. Mr.N.Muthuvel, learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent would submit that this is a case of theft in a house. Though the respondent police has taken every steps to secure the accused, the identity of the accused is not established.

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent.

5. This Court is of the view that when the accused is not detected, there cannot be a direction to file the final report immediately. However, the respondent police is directed to expedite the investigation and file the final report.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
