By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he was working as SubInspector of Police, Tamil Nadu Special Police, 13th Battalion, Headquarters, Avadi, Chennai. He was appointed as Grade -II Constable on 16.04.1997 and promoted as Sub-Inspector of Police on 03.07.2008.

3. The petitioner would state that as per the orders of the Government, 10% of the direct recruitment vacancies in the post of Sub-Inspector of Police(Taluk Police) should be filled up from among the holders of the posts of the Sub-Inspector of Police ( Armed Reserve) and Sub-Inspector of Police, Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion, by transfer(conversion)/ by recruitment/ by transfer subject to certain conditions.

4. The petitioner would claim that he is entitled for conversion as Sub-Inspector of Police(Taluk Police). In similar circumstances, the Government issued G.O.Ms.No.312, Home(Police-III) Department, dated 04.04.2003 and G.O.Ms.No.1165, Home(Police-3) Department, dated 06.08.2007. Since the petitioner was not given the benefit, he made a representation to the respondents dated 28.07.2015. But no order has been passed till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed seeking for the aforesaid relief.

5. Heard the submissions of Mr.P.Rajendran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

This Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances, permits the petitioner to submit one more representation to the respondents by enclosing a copy of this order as well as copy of relevant records within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The respondents, on receipt of the same, is directed to consider the said representation on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks thereafter and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.

7. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
