O R D E R
The petitioner who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 153, 182, 504, 505(i)(b) of IPC in Crime No.231 of 2020 seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner circulated message through Whatsapp and social Media that the defacto complainant/Sub-Inspector of Police has extorted amount of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) against the truth and this caused defame and bad reputation to the defacto complainant. Hence the complaint.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner is an habitual offender and there are 15 previous cases pending against him similar in nature. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4.Taking into consideration the nature of offence committed by the petitioner and also the submission made by the learned Additional Public
Prosecutor, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
