O R D E R

Petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition for a mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of petitioner's Appeal dated 26.2.2018 by taking into account petitioner's representation dated 22.2.2021 within a time frame stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

2. According to the petitioner he has submitted an application for arms licence to the District Collector, Krishnagiri District and the same was rejected by the police authority. As against the same, the petitioner has preferred an appeal on 26.02.2018 to the first respondent and the first respondent vide letter dated 21.05.2018 informed the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner that as per the prevailing rules, the 2nd respondent is the appellate authority to hear the appeal and that the appeal papers have been forwarded to the second respondent. According to the petitioner, now the first respondent has been designated as the appellate authority to decide the appeal. Hence the petitioner has filed the present writ petition for the relief stated supra.

3. Having regard to the nature of dispute, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to dispose of petitioner's appeal dated 26.02.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits after issuing notice to the petitioner or any one interested, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs.
