Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of writ of Mandamus to direct respondents 1 to 9 to take necessary steps to remove the unlawful encroachments over the writ petition mentioned Eri in S.No.400/1 of Hunumanthapurram, Arasajur Village of Irudukottai Post of Tenkanikottai Taluk, Krishnagiri District within a stipulated period and thereby restore the already earmarked lake (Eri) as disclosed in the revenue records to its original status as part of Government's rain water harvesting scheme and save Natural Resources.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.) The Government has issued an order in G.O. (Ms.) No.540, Revenue (LD6(2)) Department, dated 04.12.2014, for constitution of Redressal Committees to dispose of grievances relating to eviction of encroachments. It appears, pursuant to the representation of the petitioner dated 05.11.2014, making a grievance that a portion of the Eri situated in S.No.400/1 at Hunumanthapurram, which is the main water resource used for agricultural purpose, is being encroached upon, proceedings have been initiated and pursuant to the issuance of notices dated 21.02.2015 to the encroachers, no further progress has been made.

2.Thus, we dispose of the writ petition by directing the authority concerned to proceed further in terms of the aforesaid G.O. No costs.
