PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the learned Additional Mahila Court, Egmore to dispose of CC.No.17 of 2022 filed by the petitioner herein in DVC No.125 of 2019 expeditiously in compliance with the provisions of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005. ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed directing the Additional Mahila Court, Egmore to dispose of CC.No.17 of 2022 filed by the petitioner herein in DVC No.125 of 2019 expeditiously in compliance with the provisions of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act

2005.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though DVC.No.125 of 2019 is pending from the year 2019, there is no progress at all. The respondent is regularly absent and not co-operating with the enquiry.

3. In the light of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and also the fact that C.C.No.17 of 2022 is a recent case and in the absence of details regarding total pendency of cases on the file of the Additional Mahila Court, Egmore, this Court cannot fix any time frame for the disposal of C.C.No.17 of 2022 in DVC No.125 of 2019. However, this Court directs the Additional Mahila Court, Egmore to dispose the case as expeditiously as possible.
