Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records connected with the Ref.No.2807/2020/B1 dated 29.08.2020 passed by the respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the respondent to reinstate the petitioner into service.

O R D E R

Pursuant to a filing of a criminal case under the Prevention of Corruption Act for demanding bribe, the petitioner was placed under suspension on 29.08.2020. Thereafter, he made a representation for reviewing and revocation of his suspension order on 08.03.2021.

2. Ms.P.Rajalakshmi, Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. According to the learned counsel for petitioner, the suspension order can be reviewed by the authorities within a period of six months. In the instant case, even though more than seven months have been passed the authorities have not reviewed the same. Accordingly, he approached this Court for quashing the order of suspension. Even though he sought for a larger relief, he would restrict his request with respect to disposal of his representation dated 08.03.2021.

Considering the limited prayer, without expressing any opinion on merits, a direction is given to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.03.2021 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
