The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose of the representation dated 9.10.2017 preferred by the petitioner seeking release of the Gratuity under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, without further delay.

The case of the petitioner is that he retired on 31.1.2017 on attaining the age of superannuation as Deputy Manager (Quality Control) after serving nearly 34 years in various capacities in the respondent Corporation. Though he was permitted to retire from Namakkal Region, till date, the respondent has not settled his retirement benefits. In this regard, he has given a representation dated 09.10.2017. The same has not been considered. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing this Writ Petition. 3.
Mr.L.P.Shanmughasundaram, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent sought for four weeks time to consider the representation of the petitioner on merits.

In view of the limited prayer made in the Writ Petition and also taking into account the statement of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the respondent is hereby directed to consider and dispose of the representation of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
the petitioner dated 09.10.2017 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
