The grievance of the writ petitioner is that appeal filed by the petitioner before the District Revenue Officer, Thiruvallur has not been disposed of despite the fact that it is pending for the past more than one year.

2. The petitioner submitted an application for grant of patta which was rejected by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Ponneri. Challenging the said order dated 27.10.2022, the petitioner preferred a statutory appeal before the District Revenue Officer, Thiruvallur which is pending for consideration.

3. The statutory appeals filed by the aggrieved persons are to be disposed with a reasonable period of time. Since six months has already been lapsed, the appeal is ripe for hearing and passing orders and therefore, the respondent \ District Revenue Officer, Thiruvallur is directed to conduct an enquiry and accordingly dispose of the appeal filed by the writ petitioner on 16.11.2022 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. 2/4

There shall be no order as to costs.
