ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to release the first part of the bill amount of Rs.3,23,47,358/- to the petitioner with interest for the work executed by the petitioner, which is more fully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition based on the petitioner's representations dated 30.12.2025 and 11.02.2026.
2. Mr.D.B.R.Prabhu, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Learned Standing Counsel, on instructions, submits that insofar as the principal amount is concerned, the respondents are willing to pay the same to the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, insofar as the interest claim made by the petitioner is concerned, he would submit that the same is not maintainable.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner is also not pressing for payment of interest for the present through this writ petition. 2/4

Accordingly, this Court, after recording the undertaking given by the respondents that they shall pay a sum of Rs.3,23,47,358/- for the work done by the petitioner, which is more fully described in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, directs the second respondent to pay the said sum to the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, with regard to the claim for interest made by the petitioner is concerned, the same cannot be entertained by this Court in this writ petition. If at all, the petitioner is still seeking for payment of interest, he has to make a proper claim before the civil Court.
