Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.03.2024 and construct the rain storm water canal in both side of the Kakkan Road before laying road in Kakkan Road situated at Navalur Panchayat, Thiruporur Taluk, Chengelpattu District.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.L.Uthaya Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.C.Kathiravan, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 8 and Mr.M.Habeeb Rahman, learned Government Advocate for respondents 9 and 10.

2. We are not inclined to consider the present writ petition. The petitioner cannot just move a public interest litigation within a period of couple of weeks after filing a representation. The representation was filed by the petitioner only on 18.03.2024 and within a period of two weeks, the present writ petition is filed seeking directions to consider the said representation. We cannot encourage such petitions.

3. Be that as it may, if representation is filed by the petitioner, the authorities may consider the said representation on its own merits and in accordance with law and policy, preferably within a period of four months.

4. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.9775 of 2024 is closed.
