Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to issue Family Card to the Shankar Son of Periyasamy (Late) residing at Door No.17/ 7-47A6 Bathrakaliamman Koil Street Tharamangalam Salem District as per the applications of the petitioner dated 22.6.2011.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims that he is the resident of Door No.17/ 7-47A6, Bathrakaliamman Koil Street, Tharamangalam, Salem District and he submitted an application to the 2nd respondent on 22.06.2011 for issuance of a Family Card by enclosing all the necessary documents. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that though, the application was received about four years back, no progress has taken place and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Dig Vijaya Pandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of

the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, permits the petitioner to submit one more representation/reminder to the 2nd respondent by enclosing a copy of his earlier representation dated 22.06.2011, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the 2nd respondent on receipt of the said representation, is directed to consider the same, in accordance with law, by giving an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and pass orders as expeditiously as possible and not later than four weeks, thereafter and inform the decision taken, to the petitioner.
