Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 09.01.2019 in treating the petitioner at par with his juniors viz., Tr.Elangovan and Tr.Veerabadran who have been promoted as ADSP with immediate effect. The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 09.01.2019 for treating the petitioner on par with his junior Thiru Elangovan and Thiru Veerabadran, who had been promoted as Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police.

2. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents with reference to the relief sought for in the present writ petition made a submission that the claim of the writ petitioner to grant promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police on par with his junior was 2/4

already considered and the Government in this regard, passed an order in G.O.Ms.No.335, Home (Police-2) Department, dated 16.08.2021.

3. Regarding further promotion to the post of Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police, the Office of the Director General of Police in Memorandum dated 17.11.2022 seeking certain proposals regarding the service particulars and the documents.

4. Since the grievance of the writ petition regarding promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police was already complied with and for further promotion actions are already initiated, the petitioner is at liberty to pursue the matter with the Authorities concerned.

5. With the abovesaid liberty, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. 01-12-2022 Index : Yes/No.
