ORDER

The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition for a mandamus, directing the respondents to consider his representation dated 29.12.2015 and pass appropriate orders.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she is working as Coolie for daily wages. Her daughter R.Bowsiyabegam has completed the degree of Bachelor of Arts at Thiruvalluvar University in the year 2012. While so, the Tamil Nadu Government had introduced a scheme called Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme (Thirumangalyam), which provides a sum of Rs.50,000/- by way of cheque, who had completed a degree and 4 grams of gold coin for marriage https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

assistance. For claiming the said assistance, the petitioner made an application bearing No.2015/0301/07/001868. The marriage between her daughter R.Bowsiyabegam and one Sirajudheen was held on 14.06.2015 and her husband Rahamath Basha died on 30.06.2015. Even thereafter, the petitioner's application was not considered by the respondents. Hence, she made a representation dated 29.12.2015 to the first respondent, requesting to grant the marriage assistance. However, till date, no order has been passed by the first respondent. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the writ petition for the above stated relief.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondents.

Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for herein, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.12.2015, by affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders. It is made clear that this Court is not expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner and it is for the first respondent to pass appropriate orders purely on merits and in accordance with law. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
