Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950, praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for records pertaining to the impugned order in Letter No. 120826/G.58/G.582/2009-5 dated 26.06.2012 on the file of the First Respondent in respect of the Petitioners and the quash the same and consequentially direct the Respondent to absorb the Petitioners in the service of the First Respondent, by regularizing their length of service for all service benefits, from the respective date of their original engagement as casual labourers, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

Though the matter has been posted under the caption 'for dismissal', there was no representation for the Petitioners when the matter was called at 10.32 a.m. today, apart from the earlier hearing on 20.06.2022. There does not appear to be any useful purpose being served in keeping the Writ Petition pending indefinitely when the Petitioners are not interested in prosecuting the same.

In such circumstances, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. It is made clear that the Petitioners are not precluded from applying for revival of the Writ Petition, if necessary, in accordance with law. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
