Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Habeas Corpus calling upon the production of the records relating to the detention order dated 28.05.2020 made in detention order C3/D.O.No.52/2020 passed by the second respondent herein quash the same and direct the respondents to produce the body or person of the petitioner's son Vijayakumar son of Munirathinam,

aged about 55 years branded as Sand Offender and now confined in Central Prison, Vellore District before this Court and set him at liberty forthwith.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in C3/D.O.No.52/2020 dated 28.05.2020 detaining her husband as "Sand Offender", as contemplated under Section 2(gg) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.3152 Home, Prohibition and Excise (IX) Department, dated 27.07.2020 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
