Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the second respondent relating to proceedings Me.Pa.1/47347/2002 dated 31.7.2002, quash the same and issue directions to the respondents 1 and 2 to prepare the panel as on 1.4.2002 for promotion to the post of Junior Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) by including the name of petitioner herein and grant promotions as such.

ORDER
The petitioner went before the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal in O.A.No.6131 of 2002 challenging the order passed by the second respondent in his proceedings bearing Me.Pa.1/47347/2002 dated 31.7.2002, quash the same with a consequential direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to prepare the panel as on 1.4.2002 for promotion to the post of Junior Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) by including the name of petitioner herein and grant promotion as such. After the abolition of the Tribunal, the matter was transferred and renumbered as the present writ petition.

When the matter was taken up, Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 & 2, placing on record the note submitted by the Chief Engineer (Agricultural Engineering), Chennai, submitted that nothing survives in the writ petition, as the petitioner has already been promoted to the post of Junior Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) vide G.O.Ms.No.479, Agriculture (AA3) Department dated 16.11.2007.
3. Paragraph-2 of the note submitted by the Chief Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) reads as follows:- ''It is submitted that the petitioner has already been elevated as Junior Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) vide G.O.Ms.No.479, Agriculture (AA3) Department dated 16.11.2007 and joined in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Agricultural Engineering, Common Area Development Programme, Trichy on 16.11.20 A.N. His services in the post of Junior Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) was also regularised by the Chief Engineer (Agricultural Engineering), Chennai-5 in proceedings EE.2/3328/2008 dated 31.5.2008 w.e.f.16.11.2007.''
4. Recording the above statement, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
