O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent and perused the materials placed on record.

3. It appears that the respondent police has not given instructions to the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

4. It is seen that this petitioner is a social activist and has been crusading against illegal transport of cattle. She has lodged a complaint against some persons and cases have been registered by the Police at her instance. While so, it is alleged that the respondent police is harassing her, so that, she withdraws the complaint.

5. This Court will take very serious note of the high-handedness of the respondent police. The respondent police is directed not to harass the petitioner and the petitioner is also directed to appear before the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore [Rural] and lodge a complaint and on such being given, sufficient protection be given to this petitioner.
