O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the learned Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, CCB Cases, Egmore at Allikulam, Chennai to dispose of C.C.No.8052 of 2006. 2.The petitioner is facing prosecution in C.C.No.8052 of 2006 for the offences under Section 419, 420 r/w 109 IPC before the learned Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, CCB Cases, Egmore at Allikulam. It is the grievance of the petitioner that since 2006, there has not been any progress in the trial. 3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4.Today, Ms.T.Pitchi, Sub Inspector of Police, CCB, Chennai is present before this Court. On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that Final Report was filed against 3 accused, of which, Palanivelu/A2 died and Kalyanam/A3 is in abscondance. Therefore, the case against Kalyanam/A3 has been split up. He also submitted that the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

prosecution had cited 21 witnesses in the memo of evidence. 5.Since there is no Presiding Officer in the said Court, this Court is unable to give any direction to complete the trial within a time bound manner. Hence, this Court is constrained to give a general direction to the trial court to complete the trial expeditiously, with liberty to the petitioner to approach this Court for suitable direction as and when a Presiding Officer takes charge in the said Court.
