praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records in relation to the order issued in Government Letter No.14879/TD.2.1/2013-1 dated 27.09.2013 and Letter No.6284/TD.2.1/2014-1 dated 23.06.2014 issued by the 2nd respondent and quash the same and consequently issue a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to promote the petitioner as Assistant Director in the Directorate of Tamil Development Department, in accordance with the Rules issued under Article 309 of the Constitution of India in G.O.Ms.No.296 Tamil Development Culture (TD.2) Department dated 15.09.1987 and in G.O.Ms.No.313 Tamil Development Culture (TD.2) Department dated 14.12.1995 and in G.O.Ms.No.558 Tamil Development Culture (TD.2) Department dated 17.11.1998 and as per the Notification issued by the University Grants Commission in No.F.

1117/83(CP) dated 25.11.1985, as amended on 18.10.1995 in No.F.1117/83 (CPP-II), with effect from the date on which petitioner's juniors are promoted as Assistant Director with service and monetary benefits. The writ petition is filed praying for Certiorarified Mandamus challenging the order of the 2nd respondent in Government Letter No.14879/TD.2.1/2013-1 dated 27.09.2013 Letter No.6284/TD.2.1/2014-1 dated 23.06.2014 and consequently issue a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to promote the petitioner as Assistant Director in the Directorate of Tamil Development Department, in accordance with the Rules issued under Article 309 of the Constitution of India in G.O.Ms.No.296 Tamil Development Culture (TD.2) Department dated 15.09.1987 and in G.O.Ms.No.313 Tamil Development Culture (TD.2) Department dated 14.12.1995 and in G.O.Ms.No.558 Tamil Development Culture (TD.2) Department dated 17.11.1998 and as per the Notification issued by the University Grants Commission in No.F.1117/83(CP) dated 25.11.1985, as amended on 18.10.1995 in No.F.1117/83 (CPP-II), with effect from the date on which petitioner's juniors are promoted as Assistant Director with service and monetary benefits.

2. It is submitted by Mr.Abishek Murthy, learned Government Advocate for the respondents that nothing survives in the writ petition in 3/6

view of the fact that the petitioner was promoted as Assistant Director on 24.08.2018 and thereafter, was promoted as Deputy Director on 26.02.2021 which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
