ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 11.02.2026, within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the present Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The brief facts leading to the filing of the present Writ Petition are as follows:- (i) The petitioner appeared for the NEET PG Entrance Examination 2024-2025 as an In-service candidate and was allotted MD Paediatrics in Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences, Kanyakumari and the petitioner completed the first year of the course as a resident. Further, as part of the Medical curriculum and Guidelines of the National Medical Commission, the Post Graduate Doctors in Broad Speciality Courses at Government / Self Financing Medical Colleges have to be trained in diverse setting with limited resources and they are trained in District Health System / District hospitals.

Further, in view of certain issues and feedback from Colleges, a complete and extensive review of the DRP Posting Methodology was done by the Government and several changes were proposed in the DRP Posting, one such being is that the Medical Colleges will be attached to a Specific District Head Quarters Hospitals / Taluk Hospitals / District Integrated Public Health Lab / District Health Office and Medical Colleges as mentioned in the portal, which is contrary to the prevailing system wherein, there was a choice and Post Graduate residents are permitted to indicate their preferred District and allocations were made considering the students' personal circumstances and family situations.

(ii) The petitioner, being a native of Sholinghur Town, Ranipet District and have an elderly mother and eight month old child, intends to complete District Residency Program at Ranipet District and therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 11.02.2026 to the respondent to consider the request for completing the District Residency Program at Ranipet District, since there was no response, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though the respondent received the petitioner's representation dated 11.02.2026, on 13.02.2026, there was no response from the respondent and thereby seeks a direction to the respondent to consider his representation.

5. Mr.E.Sundaram, learned Government Advocate submits that there may be a direction to the respondent to consider the case of the petitioner, within a reasonable time.

6. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, this Court hereby directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

7. With the above direction, the present Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
