ORDER
The petitioner seeks alteration of the name of the beneficiary in the award passed under the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purposes Act, 1997.
2. The aforesaid relief cannot be granted by this Court under Article 226 of Constitution of India. Admittedly, the award amount has been deposited in the LAOP Court. Learned counsel for the petitioner would now submit that the Page No.2 of 4
petitioner may be granted liberty to approach the LAOP Court to redress the grievance as prayed for in this writ petition.
3. The respective counsels appearing for the respondents have also not raised any serious objections for the same.
4. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner as raised in this writ petition leaving it open for the LAOP Court to decide.
5. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to approach the LAOP Court in LAOP No.3 of 2026 on the file of the Principal City Civil Court, Chennai, seeking alteration of the name of the beneficiary in the award and on receipt of the said application, the said LAOP Court shall decide the same on merits and in accordance with law, by adhering to the principles of natural justice. No costs.
