ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to appoint the petitioner as compassionate appointment in any of post in the respondent corporation.

Brief Facts:

2. The petitioner's father was employed as a conductor at the Udumalai Branch of the respondent Corporation. While in service, he met with an accident on 05.05.2024 and succumbed to the injuries, leaving behind the petitioner, his mother, his brother, and his grandmother as his legal heirs.

3. Following the sudden demise of the petitioner's father, the family has been left without any source of income. The petitioner and his brother are unemployed, and the petitioner's mother is a house wife. The family is therefore facing severe financial hardship. Although the petitioner possesses a B.E. degree, the family's circumstances compelled him to seek compassionate appointment in the respondent Corporation. In this regard, the petitioner had made a representation on 11.02.2026 to the respondent seeking appointment on compassionate grounds. However, no action has been taken on the said representations to date. Hence, the Writ Petition.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

5. This Writ Petition is premature at this stage, as the petitioner had submitted an application seeking compassionate appointment only on 11.02.2026 and without awaiting its consideration by the respondent, has directly approached this Court. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as premature. However, if the petitioner's application is not considered within a reasonable time, it is open to the petitioner to approach this Court afresh in accordance with law. No costs.
