O R D E R

Heard Ms. T.Hemalatha, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and Mr. S.V.Durai Solaimalai, Learned Counsel for the First Respondent and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

Learned Counsel for the First Respondent has produced a copy of the letter from the Petitioner addressed to his Counsel without mentioning name received by the First Respondent on 06.07.2022 stating that he does not intend to further pursue the case. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner, who has been furnished with its copy by Learned Counsel for the First Respondent,

states that no such letter has been received by her and that when she had made telephone calls to the Petitioner today in that regard, there has been no response for the same and she has made an endorsement to that effect in the court record. There does not appear to be any useful purpose being served in keeping the Writ Petition pending indefinitely when the Petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the matter.

In such circumstances, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
