Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of mandamus restraining the 5th respondent from making suo moto appointment of Attenders under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (Act 42 of 2005) as amended in 2017 to the petitioners' Village Panchayat illegally when no such power is vested with him to make such appointments under Sec 15 of the above said Act, 2005 and further declare that any such appointments made by him which is contra to the existing Act, Rules, Government Gazettes, Ciruclars etc as null and void and further direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents herein from taking appropriate action against the 5th respondent for making such illegal appointments.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submits that the tenure of petitioners /President were over by 05.01.2025 and the Government has also issued the GO on 06.01.2025 appointing the Special 2/4

Officers. Hence, the relief sought for by the petitioners have become infructuous.
