Common Prayer in W.P.Nos.12279, 12281 & 12282 of 2021: These Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to pass orders on the respective statutory appeals dated 05.12.2019 and 13.12.2019 of the petitioners against the impugned punishment order of the second respondent in Pro.Roc.No.10859/2009/VI dated 18.10.2019.

Mr.D.Sajeev Kumar, Special Government Pleader C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners are Revenue Assistants working in Cuddalore Municipality. They were issued with Charge Memo dated 22.11.2016 for their certain acts of misconduct. On completion of the disciplinary proceedings, vide order dated 18.10.2019, the petitioners were imposed with the penalty of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

stoppage of increment for a period of 5 years with cumulative effect. As against the penalty order, the petitioners appear to have submitted their Appeals dated 05.12.2019 to the first respondent.

2. The grievance of the petitioners herein is that though the Appeals have been preferred on 05.12.2019 and 13.12.2019, the same have not yet been disposed of. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court by way of these writ petitions.

3. Today, when the matters are taken up for admission, the learned Special Government Pleader entered appearance and took notice for the respondents. He would submit that if any direction is issued to the first respondent to dispose of the Statutory Appeals, the same would be complied with duly.

4. As the prayer in the writ petitions is limited in its scope and also considering the fact that the learned Special Government Pleader has taken notice in the matter and made his submissions, these writ petitions are disposed of at the admission stage itself by directing the first respondent to dispose of the statutory appeals dated 05.12.2019 and 13.12.2019 which are said to have been preferred by the petitioners, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
