Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the petitioner's pension and retirement gratuity in pursuant to the retirement order in Na.Ka.No.8750/2024/C1 dated 28.06.2024 on the file of the 3rd respondent based on the representation dated 16.07.2024 followed by the reminders dated 21.10.2024 and 21.01.2025 made by the petitioner.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to release the pension and retirement gratuity of the petitioner within a specified period of time. The petitioner had retired from service on 28.06.2024. The petitioner had given a representation on 16.07.2024 and further reminders on 21.10.2024 and 21.01.2025.

2.Heard both sides.

3.It had been contended by the learned Standing Counsel for the 3rd respondent that the 3rd respondent would examine the representation given by the petitioner and endeavour to dispose of the pensionary benefits to the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.Without entering into any further discussion, a Mandamus is issued directing the 3rd respondent to dispose of the representation given by the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands allowed.
