Mr.Venkatasamy Babu (in all contempt petitions) C O M M O N O R D E R These contempt petitions are filed complaining that the orders passed by this Court dated 19.03.2018 in WP.Nos.27134, 27136 & 27957 of 2017, and dated 07.12.2017 in WP.Nos.31387, 31388, 31389, 31391, 31392 & 31393 of 2017 have not been complied with.

2. This Court, while disposing the above said writ petitions, without expressing any view on the merits of the matter, has only directed the respondent to dispose of the second appeals filed by the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks.

3. In these contempt petitions, it is contended by the petitioner that the respondent has not disposed the second appeals within the time stipulated by this Court.

4. After notice, the respondent filed a common counter affidavit stating that the second appeal papers are not available with the respondent and that even though the petitioner was asked to furnish those details, he has not furnished the same.

5. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel, however, submitted that if the petitioner is directed to provide complete and categorical information of the second appeals filed by him before the respondent, further action will be taken on those appeals without any further delay.

6. Since it is stated that the appeal papers were not available with the respondent and it is for the petitioner to furnish one more set of appeal papers which the learned counsel for the petitioner immediately furnished today to the learned counsel for the respondent, this Court is of the view that there is no purpose in keeping these contempt petitions pending any more and the same can be closed. Accordingly, these contempt petitions are closed, by directing the respondent to consider the appeals and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 10 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after hearing the petitioner in person SD/- ASSISTANT REGISTRAR(COMM.CASES) MK //Certified to be true copy// Dated at Madras this the day of 2018.
