ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 2 to 5 to entrust all the works to be carried out in the Sadayapalayam Village Panchayat to the Sadayapalayam Village Panchayat by following the provisions of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side.

3. When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned Government Counsel submitted that the present Writ Petition with the above prayer was filed by the petitioner as the President of the Sadayapalayam Village Panchayat, Kundadam Panchayat Union, Dharapuram Taluk, Tiruppur District in the year 2020, but however now the tenure of the petitioner as the President of the said Panchayat was already over by 06.01.2025 and hence, the prayer sought for by the petitioner has become infructuous.

4. In view of the submissions of the learned Government Counsel and taking note of the fact that the prayer sought for by the petitioner has become

infructuous, nothing survives for further adjudication in the matter. Therefore, the Writ Petition stands dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
