ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for a Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the order, dated 02.03.2026 passed by the second respondent and to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct a peaceful human chain protest on 22.03.2026 from Poolapalayam to Periyapuliyur on the Bhavani-Kavundapadi Road.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner proposed to conduct a human chain protest for causing air pollution by M/s.Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd., by emanating obnoxious steam containing poisonous substances. Earlier, they had sought permission for conducting one day hunger strike, which was rejected and they approached this Court by way of W.P.(Crl.) No.1652 of 2025, but, no relief was granted.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents submits that now, prohibitory orders have been issued. He further submits that due to the forthcoming General Elections, permission cannot be granted and after the elections, the petitioner can renew their request for conducting any protest. At this stage, the situation is volatile and causing disturbance to the public peace and movement cannot be entertained. 2/4

Therefore, in view of the forthcoming elections, the petitioner's request cannot be considered as faulted with.

4. Hence, this Writ Petition is disposed of by giving a liberty to the petitioner to renew their protest after the General Elections. There shall be no order as to costs.
