Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 18.11.2014 made by the petitioner to correct the entry made in the revenue records in respect of the property situated in S.No.160/1 at Puduppakkam Village Tirupporur Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

By consent the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.Petitioners claim to be the co-owners and according to them, the land admeasuring to an extent of 83 cents in Survey No.160/1 in Pudupakkam Village was assigned patta as per settlement register vide patta no.844 and the concerned persons were enjoying the same as absolute owners and paying the statutory levies to the competent authorities without any default. The petitioner further states that
after UDR scheme, patta was issued in favour of his father and brother in patta no.1096 measuring an extent of 0.24.5 ares and the survey number was mentioned as 160/1A 1A 1A and after demise of his father and brothers, the legal heirs including the petitioners are in possession and enjoyment of the same without any disturbance or hindrance.
3.It is the specific case of the petitioner that an error has crept in, in the revenue records and the survey number has been renumbered as S.No.160/1A1A1A with lesser extent of land of 0.24.5 ares and pointing out the same, a representation dated 18.11.2014 was sent to the first respondent and the first respondent on receipt of the same has forwarded the same to the third respondent for conducting a detailed enquiry and local inspection. Since no progress has been made thereafter, came forward to file this writ petition.
4.Heard the submissions of Mr.K.Ramesh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 5.This Court without going into the merits of the representation made by the petitioner, directs the third respondent to forward his report in compliance of the communication dated 04.12.2014 received from the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.2214/2014 A within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the second respondent on receipt of the same is directed to consider the said representation in accordance with law after putting on notice the persons concerned and pass orders within a period of eight weeks thereafter and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioners.
