O R D E R
The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa) & 4(1-A) of Tamilnadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.88 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. It is the case of the prosecution that based on the secret information that the petitioner hoarded Government liquor bottles in his house, the respondent police made search in the house of the petitioner and at that time he was found in possession of Copper Brandy 180 ML each 230, Express Brandy 180 ML 320 Bottles, Horse Power Bear 650 ML 14 Bottles illegally and seized the same. Hence, a case was registered against the petitioner.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is ready to abide any conditions imposed by this Court and he is also ready to provide solvent surety. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that there are 11 previous cases pending against the petitioner and he is an habitual offender. Hence, the learned Public Prosecutor vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Considering the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
6. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed.
