The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondent to issue the appointment letter to the petitioner for the post of Field Assistant in the respondent-Corporation.
2. The petitioner participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Field Assistant in the respondent-Corporation.
3. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the candidates, who scored lesser marks than the writ petitioner were selected for appointment to the post of Field Assistant. Therefore, the petitioner has chosen to file the present writ petition.
4. The learned Standing Counsel, appearing on behalf of the TANGEDCO, made a submission that the petitioner was not within the zone of consideration. The petitioner scored 21.30 marks in the selection process and the cut off mark fixed for selection is 28.35. Thus the writ petitioner was declared as an unsuccessful candidate, who was not within the zone of 2/4
consideration. Therefore, the relief, as such, sought for in the present writ petition is not entertainable.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
