This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to provide police protection to the students who were intending to take out a walking procession (Nadai Payanam) from Ariyalur to Chennai for the period 25.04.2022 to 02.05.2022 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 13.04.2022.

2. Heard Mr.R.Sankarasubbu, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Gopinath, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

3. In the considered view of this Court, the period has already expired and therefore nothing survives in this petition. A fresh application shall be made before the respondent Police and the same will be considered in accordance with law.

4. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.

5. In view of the orders passed in the main Writ Petition, the 2/4

connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
