ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.11.2024 and to issue death certificate of Late Kiliammal.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner's grandmother Kiliammal died on 07.02.1993 and the death was not reported to the authorities. If the death is not reported within a period of one year thereafter the petitioner has to make an appropriate application under the Rules before the respondent, namely the Revenue Divisional Officer and after conduct of enquiry as contemplated in the Rules and after considering such proof, the respondent has powers to pass orders to make an entry and thereafter the death certificate will be issued. 2/5

When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader taking notice on behalf the respondent would submit that now the representation that was made by the petitioner was forwarded to the respondent and the respondent is in the process of conducting an enquiry. The petitioner shall appear before the first respondent on 08.04.2025. Upon the request of the respondent, the petitioner shall produce such documents or forms as may be necessary and within a period of 12 weeks therefrom, the respondent shall complete the enquiry and pass final orders. If the respondent agrees to make an entry, then the entry shall be made and the death certificate shall be issued.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
