THE HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE C.KUMARAPPAN Irfan Ali N S/o. Renaz Rehana, Old No. 250, New No. 88, Bharathi Salai Lane, Triplicane, Chennai - 600 005.

..Petitioner(s) Vs State Rep. By, The Inspector of Police, D-3 Ice House Police Station, Chennai.

Crime No. 347/2025 ..Respondent(s) PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023, to enlarge the Petitioner on anticipatory bail in the event of arrest in Crime No. 347 of 2025 on the file of the Respondent/ Complainant herein i.e., the Inspector of Police, D-3, Ice House Police Station and thus render justice. For Petitioner(s):

M/s.Kartik Soundararajan For Respondent(s):

Mr.P.Dhileepan Government Advocate (Crl.Side)

ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B), 25 and 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.347 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner, along with other accused, was found to be in illegal possession of 1.100 kgs of ganja. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has no connection with the alleged offence and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that this is the third anticipatory bail petition and that the earlier petitions were dismissed by this Court in Crl.O.P.Nos. 25825 and 30575 of 2025, dated 19.09.2025 and 10.11.2025. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) strongly opposed the application and submitted that the case involves narcotic substances and that if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, it may embolden him to indulge in similar activities.

5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and also perused the records available.

6. It is seen that this Court has already dismissed the anticipatory bail petitions filed by the petitioner on two earlier occasions. Considering the

quantity of contraband involved and in the absence of any change in circumstances warranting reconsideration of the earlier orders, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. 24-03-2026 MPA To 1.The Inspector of Police, D-3 Ice House Police Station, Chennai.
