O R D E R
The petitioner, alleging non-compliance of the order passed by this Court dated 11.08.2022 in W.P.No.20061 of 2022, has filed the present contempt petition.
2. In compliance of the statutory notice issued by this Court on 08.09.2023, the respondents / contemnors are present before this Court.
3. The second respondent has filed an affidavit today before this Court stating that one Tmt.R.Geetha, Chief Engineer, National Highways has been appointed as Inquiry Officer to conduct and complete the departmental disciplinary proceedings against Thiru.P.Viswanathan, formerly Divisional Engineer (NH), Salem (Retd.) and 19 others vide G.O.(Rt.)No.164, Highways and Minor Ports (HL1) Department dated 30.06.2023 and the enquiry is under process and the Director of Vigilance and Anti Corruption has been requested to take appropriate action to comply with the order of this Court and further stated that the Director General, Highways Department had requested the Director of Vigilance and Anti Corruption to produce copies of documents on 22.08.2022 and the same was partly provided on 15.07.2023 and the balance documents on 25.07.2023.
additional 60 days to complete the inquiry and to prepare inquiry report in this departmental action. According to the respondents, the said departmental enquiry will be completed at the earliest and also seeks unconditional apology.
4. Recording the aforesaid stand and the unconditional apology tendered by the second respondent, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
